UPDATE: Things. Are. Happening. (...still)
Maybe if I type that out they will happen easier/faster/better...
It’s like every healthy new practice that starts with good intention only to fall off with time…right? Eating healthy, exercising, writing regularly to capture your business journey…
Well things have been happening regardless of if I wrote about it here. Like probably more than I can mentally handle. I won’t sugar coat that.
Here’s my recap of the past many months:
We are within months if not days of running production within our own facility. And it’s only taken about 18 more months than I had originally planned for. SO MUCH goes into a facility that you do not get to see. Beneath the floors, behind the walls, above the ceilings. Do you understand the excitement/stress that goes along with your very first floor drain install? Oh the DRAMA! (…I’m only able to be lighthearted here because I somehow skirted out of the manual labor on this. Free candy for life to Scott and the plumbers.)
We survived Norma’s first major trade show…the Sweets and Snacks Expo! LOOK HOW GOOD

Product development keeps things going full steam ahead in the lab. I can’t wait to start sharing what some of our clients have been working on and developing with Sprinkk! Hint: they are seriously delicious!
Speaking of the lab…we are also building a new one! I know it seems like I just posted the before and after of the current one, but in the spirit of loving before and afters, I’ve decided we’re going to move! (ok that is clearly not the reason, but is a fun bonus to have new “content” I guess.)
I’ve heavily invested into Norma’s Handcrafted Fruity Snacks in ways that are building an incredible foundation for results that might not be noticeable for a couple of years. But in the meantime, I find immense joy in shipping out or delivering each order!
Shameless plug to go shop what remains of Strawberry Rhubarb before we make more at
I still hate social media but am going to figure it out eventually…I think. If nothing else, we did a fresh photoshoot with Grandma Norma that I get to go back and swoon over at any time.
And with that, I’ll pause. There is significantly more, but one attractive feature of bullet pointed lists is that they aren’t novels, so I’ll cap it here for now. Let me know in the comments (or text/email/call me…look at me acting like strangers follow this) if there are things you’d love to chat or learn about with this journey and what I’ve been up to this year.
If I can leave this entry with anything, it is that I want you to know that things are still happening.
I actually NEEEED you to know that for my mental well being so as to not feel like I’ve just been slacking over here whilst claiming to be building cool things. Sometimes it feels like if the world isn’t seeing it all over the internet and media then it must not be happening.
…but it is. Quite more than I can wrap my head around.
Sweet Fact:
What do Cheetos and marshmallows have in common? Extrusion. Many marshmallows (and Cheetos) are made using this process that squeezes a mixture under pressure and then pushes it through a shaped die (usually a circle). It PUFFS up when it hits ambient pressure!
